ADHD Coach & Speaker · Black Girl, Lost Keys
René Brooks was diagnosed with ADHD three times before it finally stuck, first at seven, then eleven, then twenty-five, and turned that struggle into Black Girl, Lost Keys.
After being diagnosed three times as a child, René decided her passion for helping others should go toward people with ADHD who are struggling in silence or shame. She started Black Girl, Lost Keys to empower Black women with ADHD and show them how to live well with the condition, and it has grown into one of the most widely read ADHD blogs.
She hosts the Life With Lost Keys podcast and speaks nationally on ADHD, representation, and mental health, coaching late-diagnosed and long-struggling adults to stop blaming themselves for executive-function challenges and instead build systems, self-compassion, and community. Her writing has appeared on Kaleidoscope Society, ADHD Women's Palooza, Mindfully ADD, ADHD Essentials, and Healthline, and she has served as a Patient Contributor for TEVA Pharmaceutical's Life Effects.
